O Valadouro is shaped by the existence of two mountain ranges: Xistral and Buio that protect the valley from the winds of the area. In the first we can find Cadramón that with 1056 mt. marks the highest elevation in the region.
Referring to hydrography Valadouro converges from the rivers of these mountains. One of this rivers, Ouro, gives its name to the valley and flows into the Cantrabian Sea in Fazouro town.
Referring to climatology notice the smoothness of the temperature throughout the year with an annual average of 13 degrees, tempered by the influence of the Cantabrian Sea. Rainfalls can be classified within a transition oceanic climate, placing them around 1000mm per year.
